SZABIST Islamabad Campus

Dr. Rashid Salaria presented a paper at the 9th Islamic Countries Conference on Statistical Sciences 2007 (ICCS—IX) held between 12—14th of December 2007 at Concorde Hotel, Shah Alam, Malaysia. The theme of the conference was: “Statistics in the contemporary world—Theories, methods, and applications”.

Hosted and organized by the Society for the Promotion of Higher Education in Pakistan (SOPHEP), GIMUN was hosted by the GIK Institute at their sprawling, world-class campus in Topi, Swabi District from 23-25th November. Students from SZABIST were invited to represent the rainbow nation of South Africa in three committees; the World Trade Organization, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and the Security Council.

SZABIST PRIDE Thumbs up to the students of SZABIST Islamabad Humza Khan, Syed Fahad Ehsan, Zohaib Jamal and Adeel Ahmed Sheikh for their outstanding performance in winning the "Business Plan Competition” arranged by FAST – Islamabad at NASCON 2007. SZABIST took the 1st Prize beating LUMS which stood 2nd with 20 different leading Institutions of Pakistan who participated in the said event.

Students of SZABIST participated with utmost fervor in the model united nations conference held at LUMS. Our students formed two delegations and collected data on three countries; Belarus, Russia and Congo respectively.
