PEMRA( Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority) has issued FM license to SZABIST (Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science & Technology) campus Radio Station 106.600 and the institute will soon start its transmission for public in general and students in particular.
This was announced following a meeting between Chairman PEMRA Mr. Abdul Jabbar and Director SZABIST Syed Asad Hussain at PEMRA office here in Islamabad.
Mr. Jabbar said PEMRA has given a number of FM licenses to different Institutions with an aim to provide prompt and wide ranging information to the people of Pakistan.
Highlighted the objectives of PEMRA he said the authority is endeavoring to facilitate and promote growth of media so that an independent and free media could play its true role in creating awareness among people, educate them and contribute to overall National Development.
Director SZABIST said the campus radio station would have a very vast range of objectives, as the transmission will not only cater the academic needs of the students but a common man can also take benefit from transmission. He added that the FM radio will focus on entertainment and other interesting stuff for people of all ages so they could be provided a mix flavor of knowledge information & entertainment.
He said SZABIST will hire services of professionals who would train the students and guide them technically and editorially in producing quality documentaries, talk shows, Script writing and uphold the true standards of educational broadcasting.
