Dr. M. Rashid Salaria participated in the International Conference on Mathematics and Statistics, held by the Muslim Statisticians and Mathematicians Society in South East Asia, in collaboration with the Bandung Islamic University (UNISBA) in Bandung, Indonesia on June 19-21, 2006. . The theme of the Conference was ‘Enhancing contribution of Mathematicians and Statisticians towards world peace and prosperity’.

The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Yusuf Anwar, Former Finance Minister of Indonesia who also delivered a keynote speech on the occasion.

The venue of the Conference was the splendid and spacious Jayakarta Hotel, Jalan Juanda 381 A, Bandung, INDONESIA.

The Conference, split in various sessions, was well managed and properly organized with foolproof arrangements made everywhere for the comfort and convenience of the participants, specially the foreign delegates.

More than one hundred research papers were presented in the Conference excluding a good number of invited speeches and public lectures, delivered by various experts of international fame. Each paper, invited speech or public lecture was followed by a detailed question-answer session.

Dr. Salaria contributed a research paper entitled ‘Restructuring of Statistical System of Pakistan---A Case Study for Developing Countries’, as approved by the Organizing Committee of the Conference. Great interest was shown in the findings of the paper by the audience.

Among the foreign delegates, Pakistan delegation was the second largest after Malaysia. In total, seven Pakistani scholars and academicians took part in the Conference who represented their universities and institutions in the moot. Dr. Salaria represented SZABIST in the Conference.

In off-Conference corner meetings and discussions, held with Dr. Salaria, foreign faculty members and students showed a keen interest in the Programs / Courses offered by the SZABIST Campuses. Some Indonesian students expressed their desire to get admission in any of the SZABIST Campuses.
